2024 FWTS CLUB SKEET SHOOT SERIES

 General

  • The 2024 FWTS Monthly Skeet Shoots consist of 12 shoots beginning in October (2024) and ending in September (2025).
  • Each monthly shoot consists of two events: 50 targets per event. An associated HOA score will be determined for shooters that participate in both events in a given month.
  • Shooting normally starts at 10:00 AM on the second Saturday of each month (see website https://fortworthtrapandskeet.com  for official schedule).  Start times may move to 12:00 to accommodate the Saturday morning league.  When required to deconflict with organized NSSA and ATA events, monthly club skeet shoots will be rescheduled.  The preferred alternate date will be the third Saturday of the month, if available.  Notification of each monthly event is posted on the website (calendar).
  • In the event of a rainout, monthly club skeet shoots will be rescheduled (if the calendar allows).  The preferred alternate date will be the third Saturday of the month, if available.
  • Shooting is done on fields 2 through 5 (preferred fields are 3, 4, 5, and 2, respectively).  Two rotations are available for each event for a maximum capacity of 40 shooters.  If a rotation is required, all shooters will complete shooting with the larger gauge first, followed by all shooters shooting with the smaller gauge.  Signup will start 60 minutes prior to shooting times.  Final squadding will occur then.
  • Each shooter will be responsible to pay the normal fee for birds.  Additionally, each shooter will pay $3 per event towards the awards purse (no fee for HOA).
  • Monthly club shoots are open to all members, non-members, and guests; however, only club members are eligible for prizes.
  • Call club for additional information at (817) 244-9878.

2024 Schedule

  • Shoots will follow NSSA rules, with minor club modifications allowed.
  • Points are awarded for all events (by gauge and classification) and HOA each month.  4 points are awarded for first place, 3 points for second place, 2 points for third place, one point for all other participants.  In the event of a tie for a given month, shoot-offs will be held at the conclusion of the last event.  Shoot-offs will consist of doubles on stations 3, 4, and 5; fair pair in the air, miss and out.
  • HOA shoot-offs will be shot with the smallest gauge or bore used for that day’s particular events.
  • Shooters who are unable to attend the shoot may pay their $3 entry fee before the shoot to be eligible for 1point.
  • For the 20 gauge event; shooters who own a 12 gauge ONLY will be allowed to shoot the event using 7/8 ounce loads.  Honor system applies.
  • A shooters score will not be posted until his sign-in sheet has been initialized by the cashier.

 Classification

  • Three classifications will be available for each gauge and HOA.  AA and A shooters will form one class; B and C shooters will form a second class, and D shooters will form the third.
  • A shooter may declare a class using their current NSSA classification.
  • For shooters that do not have a classification, a classification will be assigned based on the first available scores posted.  Shoot management reserves the right to adjust this classification (up or down) if first available scores posted do not reflect the shooter nominal capabilities.

 Awards

  • Awards will be determined, based on cumulative points, for all events (12, 20, 28, 410, and HOA) in each classification. Ties, based on cumulative points will be broken based on comparing averages; or if averages are identical, by a coin toss.  Within a given class, awards will be assessed in the following order: HOA, 410, 20, 20, 12.
  • An individual shooter may win only ONE prize regardless of how many individual events won.
  • In order to be eligible to win a prize, a shooter must have enrolled for a minimum of half of the targets thrown for that specific event during the calendar year.
  • When sufficient participation allows, a High Lady award will be awarded.  This award will be assessed by total cumulative point in the 4 gauges. Ties will be broken by cumulative HOA points followed by HOA average, else coin toss.
